Since his childhood introduction to puppetry by puppet master Gerald Chapin (known for entertaining the first children in the Kennedy Whitehouse and at Buckingham Palace) Brian Gaston's puppetry skills have expanded to include large scale puppetry, set and costume design. Recent projects have included marionette design and performance for the independent feature film Alas, Poor Yorick, set and puppet design for Zachary Scott Theater Center's Little Shop of Horrors design and performance of the dragon "Smaug" for Second Youth's The Hobbit, set and puppetry design for the City of Austin's Dowser Dan Show, and puppetry design for Second Youth's A Christmas Carol.
His award winning bunraku style production, Liu, the Dragon King remains a favorite.
Brian currently lives in Rhode Island where works for Brown University promoting their student and professional seasons. He continues to develop his own work, focusing on puppetry and digital media.
